My journey into photography began at the tender age of 10, living in the vibrant city of London. It was there that my fascination with capturing moments through the lens took root, thanks to my father’s purchase of a Nikon FM2. With his generous permission, I eagerly embraced the opportunity to experiment with this iconic camera, immersing myself in the art of photography. The streets of London became my canvas as I explored various landscapes and tourist hotspots, honing my skills and nurturing a lifelong passion.
By the time I turned 15, my dedication to photography had only grown stronger, leading me to acquire my own Nikon camera. This personal milestone marked a new chapter in my photographic journey, allowing me greater freedom to express my creativity and refine my technique.
During my high school years, an unexpected opportunity arose when I was tasked with photographing 55 high school girls for a formal dance. The event also featured the professional services of Marc Nathan, a renowned photographer from Party Pics. As Marc perused the array of portraits I had captured, he was visibly impressed by the quality and volume of work produced by a high school student. Intrigued, he sought me out and, recognizing my potential, offered me a position working alongside him. This experience proved invaluable, providing me with practical insights into the world of professional photography and solidifying my commitment to the craft.
After college, I relocated to Los Angeles, where my photography took on a new dimension. In the bustling heart of the entertainment industry, I found myself photographing models and actors, further expanding my portfolio and gaining recognition for my work. It was during this period that I crossed paths with Ian Miles, a celebrated photographer known for his illustrious book, “The World’s Most Beautiful Faces.” Impressed by my portfolio, Ian invited me to assist him on shoots featuring some of the most famous individuals in the world. One unforgettable experience was the opportunity to photograph supermodel Paulina Porizkova, a moment that remains a highlight of my career.
To this day, photography continues to be an integral part of my life. Whether capturing images for clients or purely for the joy of the art, I find myself constantly drawn to the camera, driven by the same curiosity and passion that first sparked my interest all those years ago in London. Each photograph is a testament to my journey, a blend of technical skill and artistic expression that allows me to connect with the world around me in a uniquely personal way.
