Sentinel Peak Preserve
Purchase, Protect, and Preserve
Sentinel Peak Preserve is a Non-Profit organization created to PURCHASE, PROTECT & PRESERVE the 2,382 acres in the Texas Hill Country known as The Devil’s Backbone. This magnificent land is located between Austin and San Antonio, off of highway 32 and includes the beautiful Blanco river.
The Boy Scouts of America, Sam Houston Area Council purchased the land in1953 for $145,000 and named the Boy Scout camp El Rancho Cima. El Rancho Cima has been decommissioned and is now for sale. The Boy Scout Camp is now closed.
Sentinel Peak Preserve is a Non Profit formed to raise $24.5 Million to purchase, protect and preserve this beautiful land in the Texas Hill Country. Our vision is to continue to host campers, girls and boys and families teaching outdoor skills, aquatics, land stewardship, water conservation and life skills taught in Scouting programs. Your generous donation will allow this camp to continue teaching our children valuable skills while protecting our natural resources. A portion of this land will become a wildlife preserve for both Hays and Comal Counties if we are successful in this purchase.
We are raising funds through Pay Pal on our web site sentinalpeakpreserve.org and You Caring.com.
We also accept donations via U.S.Mail. Checks can be made payable to:
